FAQ - Lessons
I have this software program I downloaded
that I want to learn, can you teach it to me?
If we know the software program and you legally own it, yes.
The software program I want to learn is
commercial, but I don't own a copy of it. Can you still teach it to me?
Only if we know the software program and only if you legally purchased it,
then and only then, yes, we can and will teach it to you.
I have to buy the commercial software
program it if I don't own it, but I want to use it?
If you want to use that commercial software legally, yes, you need to
legally purchase it. We cannot and will not support illegal software for a
variety of reasons: morals, ethics, and most of all, it's illegal.
You are really sticklers about this whole
being legal thing aren't you?
Yes we are. It's the right thing to do.
I can't afford the software, so what are my
alternatives?
If you can't afford that commercial software program, there are
alternative software programs that ARE free. For example, instead of using a
very well-known commercially made office suite program; there is free
alternative called Open Office which you can download
HERE
For another example, instead of using a very well-known commercially made graphics program for editing photos; there is free alternative called GimpShop which you can download HERE as well.
In fact, we are very big proponents of using legally free software if at all possible; however there are times when a certain commercial software package must be used by someone, and in such a case, they must purchase it. Free software definitely has both advantages and disadvantages to it, just as commercial software does; but we think the good far outweighs the bad when it comes to free software. Rather than post here, if you want to discuss this, feel free to email ron [at] pyramidtechnologiesmn.com and we can discuss it.
